BDT named after Tovstonogov declared victim of gross fraud. "National Information Service", 2 July 2018

The Bolshoy Drama Theatre named after Tovstonogov (BDT) in Saint-Petersburg has been declared a victim of gross fraud. The NIC has received this information from the General Office of the Ministry of Interior of Russia in Saint-Petersburg. The damage is estimated at more than ₽1 m. 

"The theatre is really declared a victim in the criminal case, and it is natural. At present our principal is interacting with the investigation and providing it with all necessary information and documents, whereas the staff of the theatre are being questioned in connection with the criminal case. We are sure that the forthcoming investigative and operational actions will enable to restore our rights, and that is the most important thing now", - explained partner of attorneys at law Pen & Paper Aleksey Dobrynin who represents interests of the BDT. 

We would like to remind the readers that the reconstruction of the BDT buildings on the river Fontanka embankment took place from 2011 to 2014. Earlier the Petersburg police started a criminal investigation into fraud during reconstruction of the BDT sites which had been allegedly committed by members of the construction firm "BaltStroy". This company is part of the holding "Forum" which belongs to billionaire Dmitry Mikhaltchenko who is being tried for smuggling 4.5 thousand bottles of elite alcohol.
